Ruubi Auctions - What and How?
Ruubi Auctions are where products/services are placed on auction with the following rules:
- There is a Maximum Bid Amount (MaxBid) or a Minimum Bid Amount (MinBid) for the auction.
- There is a Max Number of Bids or Maximum Number of Bids that will be accepted for the auction (or per item in the case of multiple item auctions).
- An Administration and Handling Fee or Admin Fee is charged per bid.
- Whilst the auction is open all bids are kept secret.
- Once the auction closes the bidder with the highest Unique Bid for MaxBid auctions and lowest Unique Bid for MinBid auctions is eligible to purchase the product/service at their bid amount (provided that this Bidder answered all the Qualifying Questions correctly).
- If multiple items are available for the auction, then each bid will be allocated to one of the items and a winner will be selected for each item (i.e. the highest unique bidder per item).
Winner Selection:
For example, for a Ruubi MaxBid Auction with the following settings:
MaxBid:
Max Number of Bids:
Admin Fee:
Quantity Available:
|
$20.00
10
$5.00
1
|
Then the bidder that submitted Bid 8 would be eligible to purchase the product/service for $19.97 because it is the highest Unique Bid.
Assuming that the bids received were as follows:
Bid 1: $20.00
Bid 2: $20.00
Bid 3: $20.00
Bid 4: $19.99
Bid 5: $19.99
Bid 6: $19.98
Bid 7: $19.98
Bid 8: $19.97
Bid 9: $19.96
Bid 10: $19.96
For example, for a Ruubi MinBid Auction with the following settings:
MinBid:
Max Number of Bids:
Admin Fee:
Quantity Available:
|
$ 1.00
10
$ 5.00
1
|
Assuming that the bids received were as follows:
Bid 1: $1.00
Bid 2: $1.00
Bid 3: $1.01
Bid 4: $1.01
Bid 5: $1.01
Bid 6: $1.02
Bid 7: $1.02
Bid 8: $1.03
Bid 9: $1.04
Bid 10: $1.04
Then the bidder that submitted Bid 8 would be eligible to purchase the product/service for $1.03 because it is the lowest Unique Bid.
Note: Should the End Date of an auction arrive and the Max Number of Bids has not been reached then the auction may be extended.
